I should be drawing right now...But I've been procrastinating.
I've got 5 requests/trades to finish. I actually got three drawn out, I just have to ink them.
I've been playing Legend of Mana and Detana!! Twinbee(It's an import). God, those are such awesome games. Legend of Mana has always been one of my favorite Mana games and Detana!! Twinbee is such a cute and colorful shooting game. I wonder why they didn't release the Twinbee games(That's not the NES ones) in the US?

Do amend what I said, there is no way Congress would ever pass a bill that does what that guy says. He was panic mongering, nothing more. Too many businesses both small and large are based on the current system right now, though they still register larger projects anyhow to make sure it's protected in a courtroom setting.
Nowadays, no lawyer will take up an artistic copyright case unless you've already registered your work with the patent office. However, unlike what Mark Simon would have you believe, you do not have to register every single "sketch" in order to be protected. Characters, locations, titles, and storylines can be lumped together as a project, and then that creative property is protected. Neither is the cost forbidding; currently, you could create a comic book universe as vast as Spider-man's or Batman's for a lump sum of around $40. That's it.
In short, Mark Simon is just panic mongering, and his essay is poorly researched at that. There is no Orphan Works bill in front of Congress, and if there was, it would have stipulations to prevent precisely what that man would have you think is the end of the world.
Funny that you hid my comment when it was actually helpful to let you know that guy's article about the Orphan Works bill is complete malarkey. There hasn't been an Orphan Works bill in Congress since the last one expired in 2006. It was never even voted on.

Amusing to say the least.
